Helio Ascari Vintage Telescope

Helio Ascari describes his craft as "looking back to move forward." We couldn't think of a more apt description for this stunning vintage telescope. True to Ascari, this piece is a monument to attention to detail and craftsmanship. Underneath the signature hand wrapped Italian leather cord lies a vintage Made in the USA Bausch & Lomb® 10 x 30 telescope. The factory focus rings have been replaced with two handcrafted aluminum pieces made by Helio. Both focus rings are completely functional.

The Tripod legs are handmade and feature aluminum feet reminiscent of bullets (a design element featured on many of Ascari's bicycles). Each leg is hand wrapped and connects to the gimbal with hand made aluminum hinges that allow the legs to fold in for travel. Two handmade knurled aluminum knobs serve to connect the telescope to the gimbal as well as adjust the pan and pitch of the telescope.
