Alden Shoes

An American Icon

Built the way things used to be built

Handcrafted in Middleborough, Massachusetts since 1884, Alden is one of the last great American shoemakers. Every pair is hand-lasted, hand-welted and built to be worn for decades.

The quality of Alden's materials are unmatched. The leathers are vegetable tanned for up to six months and come from small European & American tanneries. Decorative stitching is all done by hand. Beneath the surface, a layer of cork and a steel shank add comfort and structure, while a Goodyear welt ensures durability and ease of resoling - classic Yankee practicality at its best.

Alden Sizing Guide

Alden shoes are built on a variety of lasts and sizing can vary slightly depending on the style. As a general guide, we’ve compared each last to a common reference point - a standard Nike sneaker. For example, if you typically wear a size 9.5D in Nike, you may want to size down a whole size for certain Alden lasts, such as the Barrie or Trubalance.

For each Alden last, we’ve suggested sizing guidance using a standard Nike sneaker as your reference.
