Alden x Rivay: The Bedford Boot in Color 8 Shell Cordovan

Building on the success of our original Bedford Boot, we’re introducing a new version in Color 8 Shell Cordovan. Made exclusively for Rivay by Alden, the Bedford is based on their iconic Jumper Boot, a style with military roots that balances the utility of a traditional field boot with the refinement Alden is known for.

Color 8 Shell Cordovan is a rich, deep burgundy that only gets better with age. The leather develops depth and character with wear, gradually revealing subtle variations in color and the distinctive patina for which Shell Cordovan is known.

The boot retains the perforated cap toe and Alden’s signature Commando sole, while traditional eyelets transition to speed hooks toward the top for easier lacing. The military details remain, while the Shell Cordovan gives it a more refined character.

Named after the town where we opened our first store, the boot reflects the character of Bedford, New York: rugged horse country just outside the city, where muddy fields and country roads call for a proper boot.

Sizing Recommendation: Size down 1/2 to 1 full size

The Bedford Boot is built on the Barrie Last, Alden's most popular last. The Barrie Last runs about a 1 full size larger than a standard US shoe size and is known for its voluminous shape and almond toe. The Barrie last is known to fit many different foot types comfortably.
