Jon here, founder of Rivay. I wore a tie almost every day for years as a prosecutor. Back then, it was part of a uniform - serious and expected. But somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the tie itself, especially the knit tie. There’s something about that texture, that subtle weight, that feels a little less rigid. Nowadays, I find a knit tie to be the perfect way to quickly elevate a more casual shirt or, vice versa, relax a dressier shirt.
That’s why we’re introducing our knit ties, made in a historic factory outside Como, Italy. This Silk and Linen version takes it a step further: a melange knit. The silk and linen yarns are blended for a subtle mix of tones that gives the tie extra depth and character. A knit tie can do both: dress up a crisp shirt and jacket, or bring a bit of polish to a denim shirt. It walks that line between laid-back and refined which, to me, is exactly how men want to dress today.
These are ties you’ll reach for not because you have to, but because you actually want to
The effect is understated but rich, a tie that looks just as good with a denim shirt as it does with a dress shirt and jacket.
