Sonny Waffle Sweater in Khaki Marl

We love a big, substantial sweater. We just don’t always love wearing one.

Too often, all that warmth and texture comes with a certain amount of stiffness, weight and itch. We wanted the Sonny to have the presence of a proper winter sweater without feeling like one.

So we took a classic waffle knit and reworked it in an extra-fine Italian wool and cashmere yarn. The knit is bigger, loftier and considerably warmer, but remarkably soft. A raglan sleeve keeps the whole thing relaxed and easy to move in.

It reminds us a little of an old fisherman’s sweater, if the fisherman happened to work on a ranch. Rugged, warm and substantial, but soft enough that putting it on feels more like wrapping yourself in a blanket.
