Townes Italian Suede Type II Jacket

The Type II jacket is one of the great pieces of American workwear. Originally made in denim, its two chest pockets, adjustable side tabs and distinctive front pleats have remained largely unchanged for more than 70 years. For the Townes, we kept the details that make the original so recognizable and completely reconsidered what it could be made from.

Instead of denim, we chose a beautiful Italian suede with a rich, unpolished surface that gives the jacket incredible depth and texture. It’s the contrast that makes the Townes special: a rugged workwear silhouette rendered in an incredibly refined suede.

A leather like this required the right hands, so the Townes is made in Italy by a factory that specializes in leather and suede garments. The construction stays true to the Type II, from the two front patch pockets and adjustable side tabs to those unmistakable pleats running the length of the jacket.
