A remarkable relic of mid-century subminiature photography, this Beica camera was produced in Japan, likely in the late 1950s to early 1960s. Cameras like this were popular both as novelty collectibles and as functional “spy” cameras, using 17.5mm film and capturing images through a surprisingly sharp fixed-focus lens. The chrome and black enamel body is paired with its original stitched leather case, embossed with the Beica name, showing the beautiful wear of decades past.
The Beica nameplate and five-point star design around the lens give it a distinctive Cold War–era aesthetic. While these cameras were never intended for high-end professional use, they remain a fascinating piece of photographic history, especially prized by collectors of miniature cameras and espionage memorabilia.
Perfect as a display piece on a desk or shelf, or as part of a vintage photography collection.
